I Tried Trader Joe's Fall Items, So You Don't Have To.
Trader Joe's is famous for their large selection of fall time foods, but which ones are really worth your dollars? I have sampled the selection at my local TJ's and am bringing you the deets.
Pumpkin Brioche - LOVE IT
This bread is just delightful. It's like a regular brioche but with just a hint of pumpkin flavor. We loved this bread so much that we are already on our 2nd loaf! Tastes great plain toasted, but we also made sandwiches with it, and even topped it with cheese and the Trader Joe's Cinnamon bun spread. I would highly recommend you try this one before its gone!
Pumpkin Spice Protein Smoothie - LEAVE IT
I wouldn't buy this again. Honestly, there are much better protein smoothies out there. This smoothie did taste like pumpkin, but it was just lack luster. I will also note that this bottle has 2 servings inside, so the numbers on the back felt misleading. Overall just not worth it for this one.
Turkey Pot Pie - LOVE IT
This pot pie gives me all the thanksgiving dinner vibes in MUCH less time. This turned out exactly how it looks on the packaging and it was DE-LISH! Stuffing is my favorite thanksgiving dish, so this was truly a hit for me.
Howling Gourds Pumpkin Ale - LOVE IT
If you are a fan of pumpkin, you will love this beer. It's the perfect drink to enjoy with all your holiday meals. I enjoyed a bottle with my turkey pot pie and it was simply perfect.
Harvest Chili - LEAVE IT (kinda)
If you are looking for something to make your fall foods fantasies come true, this isn't it. While this was a good chili, It didn't taste much different than traditional chili. When I made this I ended up toasting the pumpkin brioche to dip, and that made it much better in my opinion.
Honey Roasted Pumpkin Ravioli - LOVE IT
This is what fall pasta dreams are made of. This pasta is so flavorful, you don't even need a sauce. I made mine with some butter and a little cheese on top. I can also appreciate that this pasta is ready in just minutes. If you come across this at your Trader Joe's, I would grab it!
Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Pecans - LOVE IT
This is my absolute favorite on this list. The mash is delicious on its own, but then you mix in the pecans and it really takes this side dish to the NEXT LEVEL. We had leftovers and found that they paired really well with many meals. These potatoes are sweet but not too sweet. Please go to Trader Joe's and buy these.
